Welcome and introductions: Aurora Galloway, Information Services Librarian.
Behind the scenes: Adding local fiction to the library's print collection: Tully Gerlach, Collection Development Librarian.
Tully will discuss the behind the scenes process of approving writers works to go into circulation (and on the shelf) at the library. He can cover requirements of formatting and suggestions for submission.
Digital resources: Making your book accessible to a wider audience: Lorie Broumand, Collection Development Librarian.
Lorie will give an overview of the library's digital resources for writers: Indie Author Project, a platform for self-published ebooks, and Pressbooks, a tool that makes it easy to design your book for print or electronic publishing.
Programs for Indie Authors: Past, Present, and Future: Jennifer Villalobos, Library Branch Supervisor and Erin Kennedy, Branch Librarian.
Jennifer and Erin will cover the past programing offerings of the library, and discuss current programing and what limitations are forecast at this time. This will be a good opportunity for Q and A about library offerings and how individuals can use the library for events for writers and authors.
The Library as a place for writers, user-led programs: Aurora Galloway, Information Services Librarian.
Aurora will close out and address how to book meeting rooms and submit programming suggestions to the library.
The Hayes Auditorium will accommodate 50 persons with social distancing. We encourage all who feel comfortable to attend in person. Please note: Everyone over age two, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a face mask inside all Boise Public Library locations, including inside meeting and study rooms.
