Kathryn A. Turner, PhD MPH

Dr. Turner has twenty years of experience in state level public health in the areas of biostatistics, epidemiology, disease surveillance, and public health informatics. In her current role as the Idaho Deputy State Epidemiologist and Chief of the Bureau of Communicable Disease Prevention, she oversees several of Idaho’s public health programs including Epidemiology, Immunization, Healthcare Associated Infections, Food Safety, Communicable Diseases Surveillance, and Refugee Health. Dr. Turner has served on numerous national Boards and advisory committees and is regularly an invited speaker at public health meetings and conferences. She earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Mathematics from Boise State University and received her MPH and PhD in Public Health Epidemiology from Walden University.
