WORLDBUILDING: HOW TO CREATE A WORLD FOR YOUR CHARACTERS WITH SKIP KNOX

July 16, 2019
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
The Riverside Hotel
2900 W. Chinden Blvd, Boise, ID

·       Where to start—physics, origin legends, inherited world, the story first. Each can work.

·       When to stop the building and start the writing. It’s a conversation between story and world.

·       How to keep it all organized.

·       Consider an example.

·       Resources.

Ellis (Skip) Knox has been a medieval historian, a computer support tech, and a university webmaster, but he has retired from all that to write books. A pioneer in online education, he offered the first web-based, university history course in 1994. His publications include the novels Goblins at the GatesA Child of Great Promise, and Into the Second World (available in late July). He also has published two novelettes and two short stories. All are Altearth tales. More information can be found at altearth.net.
